Happy Anniversary to our Italian bees! It's been a whole year since Bill Lewis brought us this wonderful opportunity to learn how to care for and treat these bred bees. On Saturday, June 24 at 8-10 AM, we will be at Willow Springs Bee Sanctuary, checking the four colonies. On the last visit, we found that one hive was slightly over the recommended mite threshold... and another colony was grossly over the threshold. All colonies were treated for mites, all queens were found, and one colony may have a renegade worker laying eggs alongside the queen. We'll find out soon!

Italian bees display different behaviors and require different care than our local "survivor" bees. This class is recommended for second-year+ beekeepers. This is an ongoing series that takes place every three weeks, and space is limited to 6. Reserve your spot ASAP by registering now. Once the class fills, you will be able to join the wait list. We will notify you if anyone cancels, or you will get priority registration for the following event.

This event is free of charge. Registration is required and available to club members only. Wait list from previous session will get priority registration.
