Long Beach Beekeepers (LBB) have been invited by the Aquarium of the Pacific's Youth Climate Council to participate at their Earth Day 2024, on April 27th and 28th. The theme for this years event is "sustainable art" (which is an optional booth aspect if attending members want to share their ideas/expertise). The event will take place in the main hall, inside the Aquarium from 9am - 5pm, both days. We would like to have two to four club members at the booth throughout the day to talk with and inform the public about bees.
Two-hour shifts available each day beginning at 8am. Interested in working multiple shifts? You can! Simply pick a shift, complete registration, then register again.
There is a parking structure directly across the aquarium. Register early to receive a parking pass.
Beekeeping 101 is an introductory course that includes instruction, discussions, and suiting up to inspect the hives in the bee yard, weather permitting.

Your busy bees spent their spring gathering nectar and making honey. Now what?
Join us and learn how to harvest and process honey. This hands-on workshop will cover honey extraction as well as high-tech and low-tech methods of processing honey: an electric honey extractor, a hand crank extractor and the crush and strain method. Bring your beekeeping suit and gloves.
This workshop will be held at a private home in Bixby Knolls. The address will be sent to registrants in the confirmation email.
